Lynn is actively tackling the skill gaps in the workforce by offering trade opportunities for adult residents to retrain in specialized occupations.
Classes for Adult Learners at Lynn Vocational Technical Institute, BEGINS September 9, 2024.
AUTOMOTIVE TECH
(September – December 2024) Evening classes, dates, and specific times to be determined
Students will learn how to Inspect vehicles for damage and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made. Test drive vehicles and test components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices. Industry Certification Includes: OSHA 10, SP2 Service. Job Search Assistance by MASSHIRE North Shore Career Center.
WELDING
(September – December 2024) Evening classes, dates, and specific times to be determined.
Adult Students will learn how to Inspect, measure, or test completed metal workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices. Read blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine product or job instructions or specifications. Industry Certification Includes: OSHA 10, NFPA Hotworks. Job Search Assistance by MASSHIRE North Shore Career Center.
