Seaside North Shore: A Bus Tour of Shingle Style Homes

Join us as we explore the coastal towns of Marblehead and Swampscott over approx. 4 hours to see and learn about one of New England’s iconic architectural styles and the people that called them home!
The Shingle style is quintessential to the Bay State’s shoreline, having been popular for the beach retreats of Boston’s turn-of-the-century well-to-do.
With weathered wood shingles, cool verandas, and a casual approach to form, these homes still evoke those fashionable and relaxed summers.
From the comfort of a charter bus, we will see and discuss around 25 of these homes, with several unique interior stops!
The bus will depart from the Marblehead area. Exact location details TBA.
This is a one-time-only tour.
Tickets are $75 for adults and $49 for students. Proceeds are donated to local historical societies and organizations in the community, and also used to help fund and run the tours.
