Hailing from Marblehead\, she became known for popular programs like Leftover Lunch and helped launch the careers of artists like Nirvana\, Smashing Pumpkins\, Adele\, and Florence + the Machine. Julie was rarely without her camera\, capturing iconic black-and-white and color images of music legends such as David Bowie\, Iggy Pop\, Joe Strummer\, and Björk. After WFNX was sold in 2012\, she helped launch RadioBDC\, which later became Indie617\, where she remains active today. \nA trove of over 10\,000 photo negatives discovered in her basement led to The Basement Archives: The Ghosts of WFNX\, a photo exhibition honoring Boston’s alternative music history.
