DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to join UUCGL for some Drumagic! \nIt is a way to express yourself. You will leave the afternoon feeling inspired and relaxed. Our drum circle is open to hand drummers over the age of 16. Beginners (with drums) are always welcome. We jam to West African and Haitian-inspired rhythms on djembes\, ashikos\, dunduns\, congas\, dumbeks\, and makeshift hand drums. Please no snare drums\, kit drums\, or bucket and stick drums. \nIf you do not own a drum or are unable to borrow one from a friend\, flat-bottomed\, rounded-edge water cooler jugs and flat-bottomed\, rounded edge (not sharp edge) Rubbermaid-type wastebaskets work fine as makeshift drums. \nNever drummed before? No Problem. We will show you the way. Come out and plan to have an afternoon of spiritual awakening\, fun\, and meeting wonderful people. Oh\, and if you like to dance\, drum rhythms are great to move to as well. \nCost: Volunteer donation of $5 to $10 suggested. The program will also include remarks from local leaders\, musical tributes\, demonstrations by the Lynn English JROTC\, and the traditional recognition of honoring Saugus veterans. \nA collation will immediately follow the ceremony at the Saugus VFW Post at 190C Main Street\, where attendees are invited to gather for refreshments\, conversation\, and fellowship.\n“This day is about gratitude and remembrance\,” said Commander Castinetti. “We gather not only to honor our veterans but to remind each other of the values they stood for service\, commitment\, and community.” \nThe event is free and open to the public. After a fatal incident involving her employer\, Binh flees with his younger brother Tam. En route to America\, a storm diverts their boat to Malaysia\, where they meet Ling\, a prostitute who helps them escape. Tam dies during the harsh voyage. In New York\, Binh works while Ling moves on. Learning he qualifies for citizenship\, Binh travels to Texas to find his blind father.
