Unfortunately\, the wet weather presents significant challenges to our operations\, from logistical complications to the risk of damage to our band and DJ equipment. In light of this\, we believe that postponing the event is the most responsible and safest option for all involved. \nWe deeply apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. As much as we had hoped for clearer skies\, Mother Nature had other plans\, and that’s something we simply cannot control. \nAs previously noted on our event applications and flyers\, May 3rd\, 2025 has always been listed as our official rain date. While this decision has not been easy\, we are hopeful that the extra time will allow us to deliver an even more vibrant and joyful celebration for our community. DESCRIPTION:The Teen Health Carnival is a fun way for Girls Inc to promote Healthy Sexuality and teen pregnancy prevention\, and is hosted by a group of teens called the Teen Health Ambassadors. They will have games\, food\, and prizes. The prizes include a $20 Uber eats gift card for the first 25 students who enter the door and an $10 uber eats gift card for the 25 after the first 25. There will also be raffles for a Nintendo Switch\, Beats Studio Pro headphones\, Airpods\, and other gift cards. \nThis event is completely free to attend and the more game the students play the more raffle tickets they will win. DESCRIPTION:The Galleries at LynnArts will host a vibrant new Pop-UP solo exhibition\, Polyvios Christoforos: From the Collection – Greek Scenes\, Caricatures & Figure Drawings\, from May 14 to May 18\, 2025. The show will be on view in the GALA Community Gallery at 25 Exchange Street in Lynn\, with an Artist’s Reception on Sunday\, May 18\, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. \nPolyvios Christoforos is a North Shore-based artist whose work bridges whimsical imagination and classical observation. Influenced by animation legends like Preston Blair\, Ren & Stimpy\, and Disney classics\, his practice blends storytelling with fine art traditions. A turning point came in an art class at the North Shore Education Consortium\, where painting a spring landscape sparked his lifelong dedication to art. \nThis exhibit features paintings and drawings created over the past 5 to 10 years in workshops and classes around the North Shore. With an emphasis on recent work you will certainly see themes that reoccur throughout the years of his body of work. From richly painted Greek landscapes to expressive caricatures and evocative figure studies\, Of note is the book that he wrote and illustrated\, entitled “Sammy Smart Guy”. After a fatal incident involving her employer\, Binh flees with his younger brother Tam. En route to America\, a storm diverts their boat to Malaysia\, where they meet Ling\, a prostitute who helps them escape. Tam dies during the harsh voyage. In New York\, Binh works while Ling moves on. Learning he qualifies for citizenship\, Binh travels to Texas to find his blind father.
