DESCRIPTION:This year’s Frederick Douglass Reading\, hosted by the North Shore Juneteenth Association and sponsored by Mass Humanities\, Thursday July 3rd at Frederick Douglass Park will begin at 11am with the unveiling of a new Frederick Douglass wayfinding sign. \nThe sign’s design and text were the result of a multiyear collaboration between Barbara Buls of the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR)\, Tom Dalton\, author of Frederick Douglass\, the Lynn Years\, Doneeca Thurston-Chaves\, Executive Director of the Lynn Museum\, and Wendy Joseph\, Curator of the Grand Army of the Republic Hall & Museum. \nSincere thanks to State Senator Brendan Creighton\, whose initiative helped launch the partnership between the DCR and local Lynn historians. All concerts are free and open to the public.\n\nThe first concert is July 3 from 7-9 PM followed by the Lynn Fireworks.
