SUMMARY:Fundraiser for Cam Connolly & His Journey To Healing
DESCRIPTION:From Christine Leavitt: There will be a fundraiser for Cam Connolly & His Journey To Healing being held on Saturday\, March 7 from 6-10pm at the Gannon Golf Course in Lynn. There will be no cost for the event\, but donations will be accepted with all proceeds directly benefiting Cameron. There will be raffles\, food\, music\, and more. \nAs many of you have heard and for those who have not\, our son Cameron Connolly\, had a traumatic accident early Sunday morning while at Bridgewater State. Cameron fell backwards from a porch and fell on his back\, was rushed to Boston Medical Center to have emergency spinal surgery and has been in intensive care since then. \nThe outpouring of support from everyone including family friends from Peabody /Lynn and allover\, the BSU baseball team\, has been in one word “overwhelming!” I felt it is best to use this platform to share an update as many have reached out to Jen and I (and Cameron) asking what happened and offering prayers and support.\n\nAs this is a spinal injury\, this affects Cameron’s Central Nervous System\, this injury is traumatic\, severe and life changing. Current status for Cameron is he has paralysis from his waist down which will require a new normal including a use of a wheelchair to get around along with other accommodations.  Fortunately\, the injury did not affect his head/brain or upper body. He has full strength (and plenty of it) in his upper body and he is fully fluent and can communicate as normal.\n\nIn the immediate\, this means Cameron (Jen & I) have entered a life changing event and a new normal which will be a massive adjustment but we will conquer this. For Cameron\, he will be going to Spaulding Rehab to learn how he will need to function to live moving forward (Essentially everything we normally use our lower body he will need to learn again).\n\nCameron’s goal is to walk again and he will as he is in top physical strength\, and is determined to do this. This new challenge will be on Cameron with everyone supporting him to push him in his toughest battle yet to achieve this. Cameron is extremely motivated to walk again and we know he will achieve this.\n\nWe thank everyone for their phone/texts asking for and supporting Cameron. Many have asked what or how they can show their support. For now\, the many teammates\, friends that have come to visit and support\, please continue to do this as he needs his community to support him. Continue to reach out to Cam\, either by phone or text. While he enters Spaulding he will need to focus on rehab but would love to see anyone. Feel free to text me to find out the best time to visit as he will have a regimented schedule that he will need to and wants to focus on this.\n\nIn closing as all know how much Cameron has loved playing baseball and achieved so much from t-ball to college\, I am sharing this video as it has made Jen and I so proud and will continue to be of Cam. If you were there you know! On that cool spring day at Peabody High it was one of the best high school baseball games I ever witnessed\, and not just of what Cam did but the game was a crisp clean game with only one error with a pitchers duel\, Cameron pitching into extra innings with a shut out and scoreless game and came up with one out in the bottom of the eighth

DESCRIPTION:From the Shoe City Series: The Hibernian 5k is the first and largest race in the Shoe City Series. Its run from the Lynn Hibernian Hall thru the West Lynn neighborhood. SUMMARY:The 50th Annual Great Stew Chase
DESCRIPTION:From the Wyoma Lions Club: The Great Stew Chase is a 15-kilometer road race held annually in Lynn\, Mass.\, organized by the Wyoma Lions Club. The race is the third oldest 15K in the US\, having started in 1975. \nMost run the full 15K at 10:00AM. Two alternatives are offered. One is a 9:30AM start for slower runners and the second is a 2 person relay with each person running half the distance starting at 10:00AM. Course Limit is 2 Hours. Anyone expecting to be close to the two hour finishing limit can start at 930am. He’s an award-winning singer/songwriter\, a comedian\, an author\, and a storyteller. He’s been bringing audiences to laughter and tears for thirty years\, and has released nine CDs\, three live DVDs\, and a book. \nThis show will not only entertain\, but also benefit Kids In Community (KIC)\, a summer camp in Lynn that has suffered cuts in its funding sources. On Saturday\, September 27 at 1 p.m.\, Grace United Methodist Church is hosting a special Blessing of the Animals ceremony on our front lawn. \nWhether your best friend is a dog\, a cat\, a hamster\, a lizard\, or a snake\, bring them all! We’ll be offering individual blessings for every pet. If your furry (or scaly!) friend is a little shy\, no problem—you can bring a photo of them instead. We’ll also have a Memorial Table so you can honor and remember any pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge. Everyone is welcome\, no matter your faith! \nAll animals must be on a leash or in a carrier\nWe have some extra goodies for you and your pets\, too: \n\nPet Food Drive: We’re collecting pet food donations for the Northeast Animal Shelter\, so please consider bringing a contribution if you can.\nRabies Vaccination Clinic: VANS (Veterinary Association of the North Shore) will be on-site from 1-3 p.m. offering rabies vaccinations for only $10.00. DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Greater Lynn Chamber of Commerce Clock to the Rock 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday\, Sept. 20. This race starts out & returns to Central Square\, Lynn. After the race\, the GLCC will host Block Party\, open to the public. There will be fun for all ages. \nThe race starts at 10AM on September 20th in Central Square. Packets may be picked up Thursday\, Sept. 18 from 4-6PM at 614 Washington St in Lynn. \nPlease visit their website greaterlynnchamber.com for more information.Registration link will be posted there closer to race date. \nPlease register in advance\, although sign ups day of are accepted.\n$35 for adults\n$20 for high school students \nFree for children\n\nLike the Shoe City Series FB page for updates.
