While trends are improving\, the City is taking proactive action to address the root causes. Following a comprehensive study on violence\, we are ready to launch a Community Violence Reduction Plan. \nWe’re also proud to introduce a newly formed initiative:\nTHE YOUTH SAFETY & OPPORTUNITY COLLABORATIVE (Y-SOC) \nLaunched by Mayor Nicholson\, this new leadership body brings together law enforcement\, service providers\, elected officials\, and those with lived experience to: \n\nRealize our comprehensive Violence Reduction Plan\nBreak silos between organizations to support families\nEnsure our work is community-centered and evidence-based\nBuild a future where every young person in Lynn can thrive and have opportunities\n\nLight refreshments will be served.
