We are delighted to participate in this year’s lineup of free activities at the Lynn Museum & Arts Center as part of the festivities. \nLMAC Education Manager\, Emily Pratt\, will lead an in-depth tour of our new exhibition about the many people who have called Lynn their home.\n\nLynn has been shaped over thousands of years by the people who have called this place home. Through a Mass Humanities grant\, LMAC staff and partners spent over a year inviting the Lynn community to contribute stories and artifacts to build this exhibition. From indigenous history to modern immigration\, this exhibition explores dynamic periods in Lynn’s past and present\, creating a fuller picture of this vibrant place.\nRegister here!\n\n\n\n\nAdmission to the museum is free on the days of our Trails & Sails events. SUMMARY:Beyond Walls Mural Tour - Summer 2026
DESCRIPTION:From Beyond Walls: Join the Beyond Walls Team every other Saturday at 7:30am & 10am this summer for an engaging tour of many of the downtown Lynn murals! \n\n\nLynn is home to over 100+ murals in the Beyond Walls collection. These EPIC\, building sized pieces of street art were all created by a rockstar lineup of and local\, regional\, national\, and international artists. \nJoin us this summer for a mural tour across the city where we will discuss the symbolism\, culture\, identity\, techniques\, and fun insider stories surrounding many of the pieces. Each tour lasts about an hour and covers 20 to 30 murals! \nTours depart from 18 Mt. Vernon Street (Beyond Walls Headquarters) and loop throughout the walkable downtown. The cost is $15 per person\, and goes towards Beyond Walls’ mission. \nWear comfortable shoes\, bring water\, and sun protection! \nOur office is just steps from the Lynn Interim MBTA Commuter Rail Stop \, within a walkable distance from the Lynn Ferry\, and ample FREE Street Parking is also available. \nPlease click here to register\n\n\n \nPhoto Credit: Debbie Kennedy \nAbout Beyond Walls:\nWe are a Massachusetts-based nonprofit organization dedicated to our mission of activating public spaces to strengthen communities through large-scale\, world-class public art. \nWe integrate public art and curated experiences into the fabric of the communities we are invited to serve. \nWorking in close partnership with local stakeholders\, artists\, and technical experts\, we plan\, design\, and implement impactful projects that transform shared spaces and elevate place-based identity. \nSince our founding in 2017\, Beyond Walls has served 18 communities\, installed more than 300 murals\, reached 20\,000+ students\, and worked with hundreds of local\, regional\, and international artists.

We are delighted to participate in this year’s lineup of free activities at the Lynn Museum & Arts Center as part of the festivities. \nAuthor and Lynn native Evelyn Elwell Uyemura will read excerpts from her historical fiction novel “A Girl from Lynn.” Set in 1857\, Lynn\, 16-year-old Kat Newhall encounters labor unrest\, the abolitionist movement\, and more while working in a shoe factory. \nEvelyn\, a 1969 graduate of Lynn Classical\, is a retired professor at El Camino College in California.
