SUMMARY:PopUp at GALA | "Breathing Brushstrokes - A Journey Through Light and Shadow": A solo Exhibition by Annette Sykes
DESCRIPTION:North Shore artist Annette Sykes will present her latest solo exhibition\, Breathing Brushstrokes: A Journey Through Light and Shadow\, from May 7 to May 11\, 2025\, at GALA (Galleries at LynnArts)\, located at 25 Exchange Street in Lynn\, Massachusetts. The show is free and open to the public. \nAn Artists Talk will be held on Thursday\, May 8\, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. A public Artists Reception will take place on Saturday\, May 10\, from 2:30 to 4:30 PM. \nThis new body of work reflects Sykes’ transition from gallery administrator to full-time artist. The exhibition features Annette’s expressive portraits and figure drawings created during her long-running weekly figure drawing group at GALA\, alongside pieces from her ongoing series Antique Hunting with Bob\, inspired by road trips through New England with her husband. These works celebrate the beauty and history of reused and repurposed objects. \n“This show represents both a creative milestone and a personal transformation\,” says Sykes. “I hope visitors will see not just the work\, but the journey behind it.” \nRead more about Annette & their mentee Polyvios by clicking here.\nFor additional information please visit paintbytheocean.com\, email paintbytheocean@gmail.com or call 617-909-9211 \n\nThe above information was submitted to us by Annette Sykes. \n
