For 25 of those years\, he has worked at the Massachusetts Office of Business Development (MOBD)\, supporting companies ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 10 corporations. An additional year was spent with the Massachusetts Office of International Trade & Investment\, where he focused on recruiting foreign direct investment to the Commonwealth. \nPeter joined MOBD in 1999 as a Project Manager in the Northeast Region and has since worked across the Commonwealth\, applying state economic development programs to help companies site\, expand\, and grow in Massachusetts. \nCurrently\, Peter serves as Director of Strategy & Business Development and Director at the Massachusetts Office of Business Development. In this role\, he coordinates regional and administrative teams in the implementation of the state’s economic development programs and leads engagement with municipalities and business partners statewide. \nIn 2024\, Peter was named a “Top 50 Economic Developer” by Consultant Connect\, recognizing his contributions among state\, county\, and municipal economic development professionals nationwide. \nPrior to joining MOBD\, Peter owned and operated several small businesses and served as National Sales and Marketing Manager for a chemical and soap dispensing company.

SUMMARY:Virtual Public Hearing to Review Statewide K-12 School Finance Formula
DESCRIPTION:From the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education: The Healey-Driscoll Administration today announced a series of public listening sessions to solicit feedback on the Chapter 70 school finance formula\, the primary funding program that establishes how Massachusetts distributes education aid to cities and towns. The listening sessions are part of a Chapter 70 Local Contribution Study included in the state’s Fiscal Year 2026 budget and conducted by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and Department of Revenue’s Division of Local Services (DLS). \n“Chapter 70 is the foundation for how we fund our schools. This is an opportunity for the public to help shape the future of a system that affects every student in Massachusetts\,” said Education Secretary Dr. Patrick Tutwiler. “We strongly encourage our educators\, families\, community leaders and stakeholders to attend these sessions and let us know what is working and where we need to make changes.”\n\n“Chapter 70 is a significant contributor to the amount of total funding spent on K-12 public education\, and we invite the public to contribute to this important review of the local contribution part of the formula\,” said DESE Commissioner Pedro Martinez. “We want everyone to have an opportunity to give their feedback—whether you are an educator\, a parent or a community member.”\n\n“The Division of Local Services looks forward to working with DESE to undertake this mandated analysis\,” said Sean Cronin\, senior deputy commissioner for local services at the Department of Revenue.\n\nThese listening sessions will inform the final Chapter 70 Local Contribution Study that examines the methods used to determine each municipality’s target local contribution and required local contribution toward school funding. The study will also consider the impact of factors such as income and property wealth\, the effect on municipal services\, and the unique challenges of rural and regional school districts. DESCRIPTION:The MBTA\, City of Lynn\, and DCR are working to make the Lynnway corridor safer\, more accessible\, and more connected. \nFor those who missed previous events\, join us at one of the following events to learn about the project: \nWednesday\, September 10\, 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM \nNorth Shore Community College – 300 Broad St Lynn\, MA 01901 and virtually online \nWednesday\, September 17\, 2025 from 12 PM to 2 PM \nMarblehead Library – 235 Pleasant St   Marblehead\, MA 01945 \nWe will discuss the vision for the Lynnway to support existing and future travel and development patterns. DESCRIPTION:A Virtual Public Informational Meeting will be hosted on the MassDOT website link below to present the design for the proposed project in Lynn along Route 107/Western Avenue. \nThe purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed project.  All views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible. \nThe proposed project consists of improvements for pedestrians\, bicyclists\, and vehicle safety and operations along Route 107 (Western Avenue) in Lynn between the Federal Street roundabout and the Linton Road intersection (approximately two (2) miles). Fifteen traffic signals will be installed or upgraded as part of the Project. Besides the locations along the Western Avenue (Route 107) corridor\, the signalized location upgrades will include Boston Street at Franklin Street\, Boston Street at Washington Street\, Chestnut Street at Maple Street\, and Waitt Avenue at Eastern Avenue. Separated sidewalk-grade bicycle accommodations will be provided. \nThis meeting is accessible to people with disabilities. DESCRIPTION:Join Lynn Museum & Arts Center on the second Wednesday of each month at noon for M.E.S.A. (Museum Enrichment Series for All). This lecture series covers wellness\, genealogy\, and current events and features local experts\, community members\, Museum staff\, and others. \nM.E.S.A. is open to anyone and everyone.
