DESCRIPTION:The Be You program is for youth between the ages of 11 – 17. We offer a variety of art activities\, peer support\, food\, and a safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth to express themselves! This takes place every second Monday of the month (subject to change depending on location availability) at 5:30pm – 7:30pm at Raw Arts (37 Central Square in Lynn\, MA). \nNAGLY Lynn is a sub set program of NAGLY which is located in Salem. DESCRIPTION:The Galleries at LynnArts will host a vibrant new Pop-UP solo exhibition\, Polyvios Christoforos: From the Collection – Greek Scenes\, Caricatures & Figure Drawings\, from May 14 to May 18\, 2025. The show will be on view in the GALA Community Gallery at 25 Exchange Street in Lynn\, with an Artist’s Reception on Sunday\, May 18\, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. \nPolyvios Christoforos is a North Shore-based artist whose work bridges whimsical imagination and classical observation. Influenced by animation legends like Preston Blair\, Ren & Stimpy\, and Disney classics\, his practice blends storytelling with fine art traditions. A turning point came in an art class at the North Shore Education Consortium\, where painting a spring landscape sparked his lifelong dedication to art. \nThis exhibit features paintings and drawings created over the past 5 to 10 years in workshops and classes around the North Shore. With an emphasis on recent work you will certainly see themes that reoccur throughout the years of his body of work. From richly painted Greek landscapes to expressive caricatures and evocative figure studies\, Of note is the book that he wrote and illustrated\, entitled “Sammy Smart Guy”. DESCRIPTION:A Virtual Public Informational Meeting will be hosted on the MassDOT website link below to present the design for the proposed project in Lynn along Route 107/Western Avenue. \nThe purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed project.  All views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible. \nThe proposed project consists of improvements for pedestrians\, bicyclists\, and vehicle safety and operations along Route 107 (Western Avenue) in Lynn between the Federal Street roundabout and the Linton Road intersection (approximately two (2) miles). Fifteen traffic signals will be installed or upgraded as part of the Project. Besides the locations along the Western Avenue (Route 107) corridor\, the signalized location upgrades will include Boston Street at Franklin Street\, Boston Street at Washington Street\, Chestnut Street at Maple Street\, and Waitt Avenue at Eastern Avenue. Separated sidewalk-grade bicycle accommodations will be provided. \nThis meeting is accessible to people with disabilities. After a fatal incident involving her employer\, Binh flees with his younger brother Tam. En route to America\, a storm diverts their boat to Malaysia\, where they meet Ling\, a prostitute who helps them escape. Tam dies during the harsh voyage. In New York\, Binh works while Ling moves on. Learning he qualifies for citizenship\, Binh travels to Texas to find his blind father. DESCRIPTION:Please note: more information on the Family Day will be announced\, this listing is only for the 5K. \nThe Lynn Fire and Police Family Day 5k is run up at beautiful Lynn Woods at Great Woods Road. Bill Mullen and Joe Abelon  who coordinate the historic Lynn  Woods Wednesday Race series mark our course and keep the runners times. We run a true 5k and a shorter 1.5 mile kids race all on the main Fire road. \nThe race begins on May 31st at 11am\, the Family Day event starts at 10am.
