SUMMARY:Opening Reception | “Bay State Without Beaches” - a multimedia exhibit
DESCRIPTION:From Save The Harbor/Save The Bay: On Wednesday\, March 4\, 2026\, Save the Harbor/Save the Bay will be hosting an opening reception of “Bay State Without Beaches” – a multimedia exhibit of personal stories and artworks on how coastal climate change is affecting people and communities across Massachusetts at the Lynn Museum and Arts Center. \nThe exhibit is on view until May 23.     \n Through a generous grant through Mass Humanities’ Expand Massachusetts Stories Program\, Save the Harbor gathered personal stories to highlight how lived experiences are just as important as scientific data when it comes to understanding climate change. The exhibit aimed to promote collective action for protecting the state’s natural resources.  \nMetropolitan Beaches Commissioner Senator Brendan Crighton (D-Lynn) will be opening the reception with his remarks on the state’s climate resiliency goals. Lynn City Councilors and Board Members from the Lynn Water & Sewer Commission will also be in attendance.  \nRegister for the event by clicking here. \n A complete list of stories and artworks can be found on Save the Harbor’s website here. Learn more about Save the Harbor’s coastal climate resiliency work here.  \nFeatured artist Nedret Andre poses with Save the Harbor staff Libby McLaughlin and Emilly Schutt with her artwork “4.7 Billion” at the first opening reception of “Bay State Without Beaches”. \nAttendees read personal stories of how coastal climate change impacts their connection to Boston Harbor at the first opening reception of “Bay State Without Beaches”. \nAttendees viewed artworks from Nedret Andre\, Karen Lee Sobol\, and Carolyn Lewenberg that highlight the effects of climate change at the first opening reception of “Bay State Without Beaches”. \n _________________________________ \nAbout Save the Harbor/Save the Bay: \nSave the Harbor/Save the Bay is the region’s leading voice for clean water and continued public investment in Boston Harbor\, the region’s public beaches\, and the Boston Harbor Islands. Since 1986\, our mission has been to restore and protect Boston Harbor\, Massachusetts Bay\, and the marine environment\, and share them with the public for everyone to enjoy.   \nSave the Harbor is committed to making Boston Harbor\, the Islands\, our beaches\, and our programs inclusive\, equitable\, diverse\, and accessible to everyone and anyone. We provide free programs\, events and create opportunities for people to experience Boston Harbor and our spectacular urban natural resources first-hand\, with an emphasis on breaking down barriers of race\, language\, income and ability.

SUMMARY:Fundraiser for Cam Connolly & His Journey To Healing
DESCRIPTION:From Christine Leavitt: There will be a fundraiser for Cam Connolly & His Journey To Healing being held on Saturday\, March 7 from 6-10pm at the Gannon Golf Course in Lynn. There will be no cost for the event\, but donations will be accepted with all proceeds directly benefiting Cameron. There will be raffles\, food\, music\, and more. \nAs many of you have heard and for those who have not\, our son Cameron Connolly\, had a traumatic accident early Sunday morning while at Bridgewater State. Cameron fell backwards from a porch and fell on his back\, was rushed to Boston Medical Center to have emergency spinal surgery and has been in intensive care since then. \nThe outpouring of support from everyone including family friends from Peabody /Lynn and allover\, the BSU baseball team\, has been in one word “overwhelming!” I felt it is best to use this platform to share an update as many have reached out to Jen and I (and Cameron) asking what happened and offering prayers and support.\n\nAs this is a spinal injury\, this affects Cameron’s Central Nervous System\, this injury is traumatic\, severe and life changing. Current status for Cameron is he has paralysis from his waist down which will require a new normal including a use of a wheelchair to get around along with other accommodations.  Fortunately\, the injury did not affect his head/brain or upper body. He has full strength (and plenty of it) in his upper body and he is fully fluent and can communicate as normal.\n\nIn the immediate\, this means Cameron (Jen & I) have entered a life changing event and a new normal which will be a massive adjustment but we will conquer this. For Cameron\, he will be going to Spaulding Rehab to learn how he will need to function to live moving forward (Essentially everything we normally use our lower body he will need to learn again).\n\nCameron’s goal is to walk again and he will as he is in top physical strength\, and is determined to do this. This new challenge will be on Cameron with everyone supporting him to push him in his toughest battle yet to achieve this. Cameron is extremely motivated to walk again and we know he will achieve this.\n\nWe thank everyone for their phone/texts asking for and supporting Cameron. Many have asked what or how they can show their support. For now\, the many teammates\, friends that have come to visit and support\, please continue to do this as he needs his community to support him. Continue to reach out to Cam\, either by phone or text. While he enters Spaulding he will need to focus on rehab but would love to see anyone. Feel free to text me to find out the best time to visit as he will have a regimented schedule that he will need to and wants to focus on this.\n\nIn closing as all know how much Cameron has loved playing baseball and achieved so much from t-ball to college\, I am sharing this video as it has made Jen and I so proud and will continue to be of Cam. If you were there you know! On that cool spring day at Peabody High it was one of the best high school baseball games I ever witnessed\, and not just of what Cam did but the game was a crisp clean game with only one error with a pitchers duel\, Cameron pitching into extra innings with a shut out and scoreless game and came up with one out in the bottom of the eighth

SUMMARY:Climate Change in New England — One of the World’s Fastest Warming Regions
DESCRIPTION:From Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lynn (UUCGL): Did you know New England is warming faster—and losing its snow cover more quickly—than global averages \n Rising seas\, intensifying droughts\, and severe flooding are no longer distant possibilities; they’re emerging across our region right now. Yes\, we’ll still see those classic bitter winters and heavy snowfalls\, but they’re becoming fewer and farther between. \nJoin us on Monday\, March 16 at 6:30pm for a free\, eye‑opening presentation with climate researcher Professor Stephen Young\, who will break down the changes already reshaping New England\, the science behind these shifts\, and what the future may hold for our communities\, landscapes\, and seasons. \nThis talk draws from Professor Young’s recent publication in the journal Climate (December 2025). \nThis is a free event\, but registration is required. Save your spot now for this presentation you won’t want to miss! Ample free parking. For more information\, click here. \nClick here to register
