DESCRIPTION:A Virtual Public Informational Meeting will be hosted on the MassDOT website link below to present the design for the proposed project in Lynn along Route 107/Western Avenue. \nThe purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed project.  All views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible. \nThe proposed project consists of improvements for pedestrians\, bicyclists\, and vehicle safety and operations along Route 107 (Western Avenue) in Lynn between the Federal Street roundabout and the Linton Road intersection (approximately two (2) miles). Fifteen traffic signals will be installed or upgraded as part of the Project. Besides the locations along the Western Avenue (Route 107) corridor\, the signalized location upgrades will include Boston Street at Franklin Street\, Boston Street at Washington Street\, Chestnut Street at Maple Street\, and Waitt Avenue at Eastern Avenue. Separated sidewalk-grade bicycle accommodations will be provided. \nThis meeting is accessible to people with disabilities. DESCRIPTION:The Open Door\, a food resource center based in Gloucester which serves 11+ cities and towns\, has a FREE mobile market twice monthly at the North Shore Community College Lynn Campus at 300 Broad Street. During the school year\, The Open Door Mobile Market is available on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday each month from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. The last Mobile Market for this school year in Lynn is on Wednesday\, May 28. \n\nThe purpose of the program is to connect students to free\, nutritious food including fresh fruit and vegetables\, dried goods\, “Build-a-Meal” recipe kits\, and more.\n\nThe program came about as a result of a survey conducted by NSCC in 2016 on Hunger and Homelessness which found that 70% of students at the school were struggling with food and/or housing insecurity. DESCRIPTION:The Galleries at LynnArts will host a vibrant new Pop-UP solo exhibition\, Polyvios Christoforos: From the Collection – Greek Scenes\, Caricatures & Figure Drawings\, from May 14 to May 18\, 2025. The show will be on view in the GALA Community Gallery at 25 Exchange Street in Lynn\, with an Artist’s Reception on Sunday\, May 18\, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. \nPolyvios Christoforos is a North Shore-based artist whose work bridges whimsical imagination and classical observation. Influenced by animation legends like Preston Blair\, Ren & Stimpy\, and Disney classics\, his practice blends storytelling with fine art traditions. A turning point came in an art class at the North Shore Education Consortium\, where painting a spring landscape sparked his lifelong dedication to art. \nThis exhibit features paintings and drawings created over the past 5 to 10 years in workshops and classes around the North Shore. With an emphasis on recent work you will certainly see themes that reoccur throughout the years of his body of work. From richly painted Greek landscapes to expressive caricatures and evocative figure studies\, Of note is the book that he wrote and illustrated\, entitled “Sammy Smart Guy”. DESCRIPTION:On May 10th at 10am\, Democrats will convene at the Marshal Middle School Library to elect 47 delegates and 28 alternates to represent Lynn at the 2025 State Democratic Convention. \nIndividuals aged 16 and above who have registered or pre-registered as Democrats in Lynn by Saturday\, March 29th\, 2025 may vote and be elected as delegates or alternates during the caucus. Youth (age 16 to 35)\, people with disabilities\, people of color\, veterans\, members of the LGBTQ+ community not elected as delegates or alternates are encouraged to apply to be add-on delegates at the caucus or by visiting massdems.org/massdems-convention. DESCRIPTION:The Teen Health Carnival is a fun way for Girls Inc to promote Healthy Sexuality and teen pregnancy prevention\, and is hosted by a group of teens called the Teen Health Ambassadors. It is not a program or a service and is open to members with a Mass Health Behavioral Health insurance component. The key characteristics of the Wraparound process are that a plan is developed by a family -centered team\, is individualized based on the strengths and culture of the child and their family\, and is needs -based rather than service –driven. \n\n\n\n\nWhat Is The Systems Of Care Committee?\nCommunity Service Agency (CSA) and the Systems of Care Meeting (SOC) covers cities and towns in the Greater Lynn area: Lynn\, Lynnfield\, Nahant\, Saugus and Swampscott. \nThe Systems of Care Committee is intended to support the Community Service Agency’s efforts in their local geographic area to establish and sustain collaborative partnerships among families\, parent/family organizations\, traditional and non – traditional service providers\, community organizations\, state agencies\, faith – based groups\, local schools\, Mass Health and its contracted Managed Care Entities (MCEs)\, and other community stakeholders. The local Systems of Care Committee ensures that the Care Coordination of the Community Service Agency is in sync with other service delivery systems\, with state agency services\, and with informal helpers and community resources. \nThe Systems of Care Committee meets monthly to coordinate and integrate family voice into current community resources\, to identify additional supports\, and work together to offer a variety of choices to families without always having to recruit agency providers. At this time\, we have over 500 members in our SOC email group that is distributed via constant contact twice a month. SUMMARY:Street Sweeping Schedule: Spring 2025
DESCRIPTION:The City of Lynn Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin the Spring Street Sweeping Campaign on Monday\, April 14th\, starting in Ward 1. To ensure the sweeping process can be completed efficiently and curb-to-curb\, they kindly ask that all vehicles be removed from the streets on the scheduled day for each area. A full schedule of sweeping days by ward is below for your reference. \nBy removing vehicles on the designated street sweeping days\, this will allow the Sweeping Company\, the Parking Department\, and the DPW to complete their work effectively. This will also help reduce parking issues and improve the overall look of our city neighborhoods.  Conditions on the ground may dictate the progress of the operation (i.e.: weather\, construction\, traffic emergencies\, etc.) \n \n \n\nThe above information was submitted to us by the Lynn Dept. of Public Works.
