GLSS ceases all transportation services on July 1st

From the GLSS Facebook page: For nearly 40 years, GLSS has delivered transportation services to many of our community’s most vulnerable residents and has done so with dedication and commitment. With sadness and regret, GLSS will cease all transportation services as of July 1, 2020.

GLSS is extremely grateful to all who have dedicated themselves to this work. Please join us in thanking our colleagues, who carried the GLSS logo across the North Shore and Greater Boston areas, providing consumers with meaningful mobility options and fully promoting the mission of community livability and social inclusion that we seek to realize.

Lynn Main Streets reopening surveys

Lynn Main Streets wants your input as our city reopens. They are working to support small businesses through the COVID-19 recovery, but they need your input. Please complete their survey by clicking here, & be entered to win a $50 gift card to Alfredo’s Italian Kitchen.

In an effort to advocate for expanded services for local businesses they’d also like to ask you a few questions about your “New Normal”. Take that survey: English and Spanish language versions.

Lynn Main Streets was spearheaded in 2019 by a small group of downtown businesses, property owners, and city officials who saw a need to change the narrative of Downtown Lynn. Their primary goals are to make downtown a welcoming regional center for arts and culture, the location of choice for retail, creative businesses, economic activity and community engagement, and to pursue revitalization through partnerships and community involvement. Learn more by clicking here.

We remind the community that the use of fireworks is illegal and banned in Lynn City. People who violate the law are subject to a fine of $100-$1,000, and up to one year in prison for sale of fireworks and a fine of up to $100 for the possession or use of fireworks. Fireworks seizure is mandatory, according to the Massachusetts Fireworks Act.

′′The misuse of illegal fireworks has caused serious injuries and has sparked serious domestic fires in our city in the past”, Lynn Mayor Thomas McGee said. “Lynn is a very densely populated community and there is great danger where residents light fireworks in highly populated neighborhoods The safety of Lynn’s people is our main concern.”

If you want to report this illegal conduct you can do so anonymously
by calling 781-595-2000.
