Job Summary
As the Community Media Producer you will create high end short and longform videos of interest to the community. You will be actively involved in the community creating media for government officials, LCTV sponsors and various organizations within the City. You will be assigned a regular weekday schedule with one “Late night,” consisting of noon to 8pm. Weekend work for community event coverage will be required. This position is classified as Full Time/Exempt.
- Act as a one person crew to create high-end field productions from pre- production through post-production.
- Establish and maintain relations with local organizations, businesses and city officials to generate leads for new content.
- Contribute to LCTV’s bi-weekly news program and work closely with the
- Assist the Executive Director in finding new Community Partners and
- Create and maintain a portfolio of stock footage to be used for various
- Operate and maintain LCTV’s drone (license req. or be willing to become licensed)
- Research the newest trends in media production and recommend new equipment to the Executive Director.
- Produce, film and edit LCTV studio productions.
- Film and edit Lynn Municipal Meetings as assigned by the Executive Director.
- Teach classes in Field Production, Post-Production and various advanced classes.
- Assist in Community Outreach and give tours and information to potential LCTV members.
- Assist LCTV members, students and interns with productions, questions and issues.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Requirements
- Degree in film, video, and/or broadcast media or related field
- A demo reel of past work
- Proficiency in Final Cut Pro (Those proficient in Premiere or Avid may be considered)
- Willingness to learn studio production (if only proficient in field production)
- Must be able to turn around news packages quickly while working on longer term projects for sponsor members
- Must be able to cover events that occur nights and weekends as assigned during weekly news meetings
- Must be self-motivated and organized
- Experience in public access television is preferred
- Fluency in Spanish, Khmer, Creole or other languages is a plus
Salary commensurate with experience, but competitive.
