In January 2024, Neighbor to Neighbor welcomed Dálida Rocha as the Executive Director for the organization. Dálida is a proud African immigrant, mother of three and a seasoned organizer and leader.

Dálida came to Neighbor to Neighbor from Renew U.S., an organization that combines deep coalition building, policy development and electoral organizing to win multi-racial, working-class governing power and enact ambitious climate justice, racial justice, and economic justice legislation in states nationwide.

Prior to working with Neighbor to Neighbor, she served as the Massachusetts Political Director for SEIU 32BJ, which is the largest property service worker union in the nation. Dálida convened and co-chaired the Driving Families Forward coalition at SEIU 32BJ to pass the Work and Family Mobility Act that allows all qualified drivers to obtain a driver’s license regardless of immigration status.

Dálida also served as the Field Director for the successful Yes on 4 for Safer Roads Campaign to uphold the Work and Family Mobility Act.

In January 2024, Dálida was appointed to the Massachusetts Board of Education by Governor Healey.

“Like many of us, I come to this work from my lived experience in a world that too often did not value my full self or want to see me thrive. But I do this work not from a place of pain, but from a place of hope. I believe that a different world is possible. It is an honor to be welcomed into a community that shares my vision of the world as it should be.”

When she is not busy caring for her three children, Dálida is serving on boards such as Black Economic Council of Massachusetts and Episcopal City Mission. As a member of the Democratic State Committee and co-chair of the African Descendant Caucus, Dálida is working tirelessly to ensure that the issues of African descendants are included in the Democratic Party Platform and championed by Democratic elected officials.

Neighbor to Neighbor is pleased to welcome Dálida and excited to see what she has in store for the organization and community.
