Lynn Community Health Center Announces CEO Search Committee and Consulting Firm

Following the departure of Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kiame Mahaniah, who has begun his role as Undersecretary of Health in the Healey Administration, the Board of Directors of Lynn Community Health Center has been tasked with hiring a successor who will continue to carry out the important mission, vision, and values of the organization.

The Board’s Nominating and Governance Committee vetted almost a dozen consulting firms to assist in the recruitment and hiring process of the next CEO. Their recommendation of the team at WittKieffer was unanimously supported by the full Board.

WittKieffer are established experts in not-for-profit and healthcare executive talent and have extensive experience supporting successful CEO transitions, as well as a commitment to keeping diversity fundamental to the process. The consulting team will include Not-for-Profit Practice Leader Julie Rosen, Senior Associate John Fazekas, and Senior Associate Stephanie Ikediobi. Among the traits which made them stood out were their personal approach to this important work, an aggressive timeline for identifying the next LCHC CEO, and a commitment to incorporating the perspectives of LCHC’s community and staff into the search process.

Additionally, the LCHC Board unanimously voted to appoint the following seven members to the CEO Search Committee on the recommendation of LCHC Board President Kirirath (AJ) Saing, who will serve as Search Committee Chair. In addition to Saing, search committee members include Drew Russo, LCHC Board Vice President and City of Lynn Personnel Director; Lori Vinci, LCHC Board Member and Dean of Health Professions and Human Services at North Shore Community College; Nelson Woodfork, LCHC Board Member and retired longtime public servant with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families; Bill Mantzoukas, co-founder, first Executive Director, and longtime Board member of LCHC and current owner of a healthcare consulting and development company, institutional pharmacy and two nursing homes in the Greater Boston area; Faustina Cuevas, life-long Lynn resident, current Senior Advisor to Mayor Jared Nicholson and the first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer for the City of Lynn; and Magnolia Contreras, former employee and Board Member of LCHC and current Vice President of Community Health at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

This talented and diverse group are tasked with working intimately with WittKieffer throughout the recruitment and interview process. Ultimately, they will make a recommendation to the full Board for their approval of the next CEO.

The CEO Search Process is expected to take approximately six months.
