DESCRIPTION:Good Hope\, Inc. is excited to announce the 9th Annual Running & Walking Well 5K. This year’s event aims to raise funds for constructing a well in the Lira District of Northern Uganda\, providing clean and accessible water to thousands in need. \nSaturday\, June 7\, 2025\, at 9:00 AM\nNahant Life Saving Station\, 96 Nahant Road\, Nahant\, MA \nRegistration: Early Bird Registration is $30 until May 7\, 2025; $35 thereafter. Family registration (up to 4 participants) is $100\, increasing to $120 after May 7. Registration includes a free T-shirt & Racers Goody Bag. Walk-in registrations are welcome. \nPlease click here for more info and to register\nRace Day Schedule:\n\nPacket pick-up and registration open at 7:30 AM\n5K Run/Walk starts at 9:00 AM\nActivities for Children including a free 100-Yard Kids Dash (under 10 years old) at 11:00 AM\nFree Lunch at 11:00 AM\nSilent Auction Closes at 11:30 AM\n\nAwards: Medals for 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place finishers; cash prize for first place. \nCommunity in need of clean/drinkable water in the Lira District of Northern Uganda. Photo courtesy of Good Hope Inc.\nAbout the Cause:\nSince its inception in 2014\, the Running & Walking Well 5K has funded the construction of wells in Kenya\, Tanzania\, Ghana\, Morocco and Zimbabwe. This year\, proceeds will support a new well in Uganda\, addressing the urgent need for clean drinking water in the Lira District. Access to safe water is critical\, as approximately 24% of Africa’s 1.37 billion people lack this essential resource\, leading to preventable diseases and deaths\, especially among children. \nGet Involved:\nParticipants can contribute by running or walking in the event\, volunteering\, donating a silent auction item or spreading the word.
