SUMMARY:Explore Our shore : World Oceans Day at King's Beach
DESCRIPTION:From LynnLab: Join us in exploring and educating our neighbors about Lynn’s shoreline. \nSchedule\nBeach Clean Up\n9am\nHosted by Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach \nShoreline BioBlitz\n10am\nStarting at low tide\, participants will explore and work collaboratively to observe\, identify\, and document coastal species found along the shoreline. Guided by LynnLab staff and volunteers\, participants will learn to recognize common intertidal organisms\, understand their ecological roles\, and explore how biodiversity contributes to healthy ocean systems. \nAdditionally\, this is an opportunity to help clean the beach. \nSensory Stations + Seaweed Discovery\n10-1pm\nFor participants unable to join LynnLab on the beach\, we will have a sampling of specimens at our tables\, including a sensory sandbox for exploration\, a traveling tidepool tank from Northeastern University’s Marine Science Center\, and plankton samples to view under the microscope. \nLynnLab will have a sensory seaweed station featuring local seaweed samples to explore. Additionally\, there will be an opportunity to use seaweed and pipettes to create a unique piece of artwork. \nLynnLab + Parner Information Station\n10am-1pm\nLynnLab will have a table specifically for showcasing our past work\, how to get involved\, and upcoming learning opportunities for Lynn youth and adult learners. SUMMARY:Opening Reception | “Bay State Without Beaches” - a multimedia exhibit
DESCRIPTION:From Save The Harbor/Save The Bay: On Wednesday\, March 4\, 2026\, Save the Harbor/Save the Bay will be hosting an opening reception of “Bay State Without Beaches” – a multimedia exhibit of personal stories and artworks on how coastal climate change is affecting people and communities across Massachusetts at the Lynn Museum and Arts Center. \nThe exhibit is on view until May 23.     \n Through a generous grant through Mass Humanities’ Expand Massachusetts Stories Program\, Save the Harbor gathered personal stories to highlight how lived experiences are just as important as scientific data when it comes to understanding climate change. The exhibit aimed to promote collective action for protecting the state’s natural resources.  \nMetropolitan Beaches Commissioner Senator Brendan Crighton (D-Lynn) will be opening the reception with his remarks on the state’s climate resiliency goals.
