DESCRIPTION:Ward 6 is ready to soar! On August 23rd\, 2025\, we invite the entire Lynn community to join us at Lynn Harbor Park for the 1st Annual Ward 6 Lynn Kite Day—a celebration of unity\, creativity\, and community pride. \nThis special event is all about bringing people together and activating our public spaces. With the open skies over Lynn Harbor and a park full of neighbors\, families\, and friends\, it’s the perfect place to celebrate what makes Ward 6 strong—our people. \n🪁 Kite Flying Fun for All \nWhether you bring your own kite or come to pick one up\, everyone’s invited to fly high. We’ll be awarding prizes for the “Best Kite” and “Most Decorative Kite”\, so let your imagination take flight! \n🎨 Kite-Building Workshop \nA heartfelt thank you to Fitzroy Alexander\, owner of Traditional Breads\, for hosting a “Build a Kite From Scratch” workshop. This hands-on experience is perfect for kids and families looking to learn and create together. \n🎁 Donate a Kite Package \nTo ensure every child has the chance to participate\, we’re asking for Kite Package donations: \n\n5 Kite Package\n10 Kite Package\n20 Kite Package\n\nHow to Donate: It’s easy—purchase kites from Walmart\, Amazon\, or other stores\, and deliver them to Ward 6 Councilor Fred Hogan. Your donation helps us put kites in kids’ hands on Kite Day! \n🏢 Community Organizations – Get Involved! \nWe welcome local community organizations to set up a table and share your mission with the public. To participate: \n🎈 Donate a minimum of 15 kites from your table (bring your own kites and distribute them directly). It’s a great way to support the event while engaging with the community. \n🙌 Volunteer and Be Part of the Day \nKite Day 2025 is a grassroots effort\, and we need volunteers to help make it soar.
