DESCRIPTION:From the Office of Mayor Jared Nicholson: The City of Lynn will host a community meeting on Monday\, September 15 at 6:00 PM at the Demakes Family YMCA to provide updates on the South Harbor Implementation Plan (SHIP) and discuss possible next steps. \nAdopted just over a year ago\, the SHIP has already enjoyed significant progress\, including expanded ferry service\, the opening of Harbor Park\, community engagement on the Lynnway’s future\, and federal funding for a new public stop at River Works station. Several private development projects are also advancing\, contributing to the transformation of the South Harbor neighborhood. \n“We are proud of the progress we are seeing in South Harbor\,” said Mayor Jared Nicholson. “But we know there’s more work ahead. As a City\, we will continue to be proactive and assertive about the change we want to see in the neighborhood.” \n\n“The SHIP helps us look at the district as a whole\, and think carefully about how individual properties can best support a complete\, vibrant neighborhood.”\n– Planning Director Aaron Clausen \n\nThe discussion will focus on tools needed to expand the street network and unlock the potential of long-vacant lots in South Harbor — two priorities identified during the SHIP planning process. \nThe event is open to the public\, and Spanish interpretation will be available. \nClick here to learn more
