Virtual meeting on Re-Development of Union Hospital planned for November 23rd

On Monday, Nov. 23rd at 6 pm, a virtual neighborhood meeting will be conducted online to discuss re-development plans for the former Union Hospital property proposed by local developer David J. Solimine, Jr. who purchased the building and land earlier this year.

From the “Union 2021” website:
In September 2020, North Shore Medical Center completed the closure of Union Hospital. Union served the Greater Lynn community from 500 Lynnfield St., Lynn for nearly 70 years. The Union site includes approximately 20 acres of land. The new Mass General Brigham Medical and Urgent Care Center located at 480 Lynnfield St. opened in August 2020 and contains 5 acres of land. The remaining 15 acres were sold to Lynn Businessman and Real Estate Developer David J. Solimine, Jr. for redevelopment. The sold land includes 5.5 acres containing the existing hospital buildings at 500 Lynnfield St. and 9.5 acres on Woodland North containing the overflow and employee parking lot.
There will be 2 separate and distinct development plans presented to the City of Lynn for approval. These approvals will require zoning amendments to be adopted by the Lynn City Council before new construction can begin.
Solimine’s proposed plans can be viewed online at www.union2021.org. Questions and feedback about the proposal can be shared during the meeting. You can register to participate in the meeting by clicking here.
LCTV requested a recording of the meeting, and will be broadcasting it at a later date. Stay tuned for airtimes!

The rules are as follows:

We hope everyone will help support a great cause! Last year between this event and the Lynn Tech Golf Tournament, we were able to raise more than $25,000 that we gave out as scholarships to Lynn Tech students!

We are very sorry to our City of Lynn residents and Lynn Tech students that we are unable to have an in-person event this year! We will be back next year better than ever! Let’s have some fun in a new way to keep this great tradition alive!

We would love to see everyone’s holiday decor this year, so please fill up our Facebook page with pictures of your own trees and decorations! Let’s have some fun and get into the holiday spirit!
