Lynn Public Schools is proud to announce the commencement of a comprehensive strategic planning process aimed at shaping the future of education in our community. With a steadfast commitment to equity and excellence, the district will leverage this process to identify the work needed to ensure Lynn Public Schools is a place where students, regardless of race or income, have equitable access to resources and experiences that lead to both academic and social-emotional success.

At the heart of this endeavor lies a dedication to understanding our current state, envisioning our collective future, and charting a course that aligns with our core values and aspirations. At the end of this process, we will have a roadmap that reflects the diverse needs and aspirations of our students, families, educators, and community members and that guides our priorities, efforts, and allocation of resources for the next 5 years.

“LPS is excited to engage Bellwether as a thought partner and critical friend in facilitating our District Strategic Plan. Strategic planning is a profoundly important endeavor that identifies the direction the district will take to improve as we strive to raise student achievement and meet the individual needs of each student.  A diverse group of stakeholders will collaborate in an approach that is inclusive, equity-focused, and data-driven.”

Deputy Superintendent Kimberlee Powers

To help facilitate the process, the district has engaged Bellwether, a national nonprofit focused on dramatically changing education and life outcomes for systemically marginalized young people and their communities. They do so by accelerating the impact of education leaders and organizations, informing and influencing policy and program design, and sharing what they learn. Their work focuses on strategic planning, academic and program design, policy analysis, program evaluation, and field-facing research and publishing.  You can learn more about Bellwether at www.bellwether.org.

As we embark on this journey, the district invites all stakeholders to join us in shaping the future of education in our community. Please stay tuned for opportunities to lend your voice to this effort.  Together, we will chart a path forward for Lynn Public Schools that builds on our community’s tremendous strengths to provide our students with a safe inclusive learning environment that inspires and promotes individual academic and personal growth.
