The City of Lynn is hiring several building custodian positions to support the Inspectional Services Department in Lynn Public Schools. These positions are currently available for full-time and part-time employees, with a starting salary of approximately $52,000 for the full-time position. As a key part of building maintenance and the upkeep of school grounds, building custodians will perform a variety of general custodial duties at their assigned building.

“Custodial staff are essential to every building and we are thrilled to expand this team,” said Mayor Jared Nicholson. “Ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained is crucial to fostering a positive learning and working environment for the children and educators at each of our schools. We hope to add new team members who share this vision.”

The job postings will remain open for application until the end of the day on March 29th. Lynn residents of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Applications can be found on the City of Lynn’s website, in person in the Personnel Department, or on the Personnel Department’s Facebook page.

“Custodians are the quiet heroes and part of the heart of our schools. They play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and order of our schools. They are the first ones to arrive each day always cleaning up the messes in support of our students and staff. It is said that the custodian is one of the first people you want to get to know. Behind every great school is a caring custodian.”
