Eileen Duff

Eileen Duff

Eileen Duff is a native of Peabody, MA where she was raised in a politically aware and active family. She now lives in Gloucester, MA with her wife and has worked as a realtor for over 20 years as both an agent, an investor and as the general contractor overseeing several restoration projects of Victorian homes. Eileen has served on the Governor’s Council since initially being elected in 2012, becoming the first openly LBGTQ person ever elected to a constitutional office in Massachusetts. Over the last twelve years, she has worked closely with the Patrick, Baker, and Healey administrations to ensure that the justice system in Massachusetts is responsible, fair, and equitable for all in the Commonwealth.

After six terms as a Member of the Governor’s Council, Duff has announced that she will be a candidate for Southern Essex County Register of Deeds in 2024. Eileen is uniquely qualified for the position of Register citing her combined experience as a realtor with in-depth knowledge of the industry, as well as her service as Governor’s Councillor providing her with expertise on the Massachusetts court system. She holds a masters degree in Management and Organizational Development. Duff has worked at the intersection of housing, the courts, and public policy for years.

In addition to her political and realty work, Eileen remains active in her community serving on the Board of the ARC of Haverhill and Greater Newburyport and as a member of several local Chambers of Commerce. In addition, she serves on the Massachusetts Association of Realtors Board, is immediate Past President of North Shore Realtors, and was just voted Realtor of the Year by her peers.

Jonathan Ring

I am writing to announce my candidacy for the open seat of office of Register of Deeds, Massachusetts Essex County Southern district, for this November’s election. With my executive experience as a former Housing Authority Commissioner, management and customer service experience for a UPS franchise and other retail outlets, my background on the Rockport Historical Commission, and my involvement in the community, I feel I am uniquely qualified to meet the customer service demands of Registry users, homeowners, and taxpayers in the Essex County Southern District. And as a life-long resident in the North Shore and son of a Portuguese immigrant with a close-knit family in the Portuguese community, I am also deeply committed to supporting property rights in our immigrant communities because homeownership as a cornerstone of the American Dream is something we all aspire to!

As a Housing Authority Commissioner and chair, I managed a board that oversaw a $3 million state and federal-supported housing complex in my community. During that time, I managed the hiring process of the agency’s executive director, made our finances more transparent to the public, supported tenant inclusion on the Housing Authority board, and secured town approval for a CPC grant for the Housing Authority. I have a record of results for the community, and I hope to bring this wealth of experience to the management of the Registry of Deeds.

Once again, thank you for your consideration. Please check out my website at www.jonathanring.org to learn more and please vote for Jonathan Ring for Register of Deeds on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, and during early voting.
