Audio Chemists are a Lynn-based creative studio, and are working to engage youth in creative arts through an upcoming filmmaking program: “Our Lens”.
Our Lens is a filmmaking program that empowers underserved youth in Lynn to build skills in audio and video production while creating digital media that sparks dialogue on social change. Participants receive hands-on training and mentorship to produce their own short films, exploring themes like housing inequality, mental health, and community development. This creative space fosters connection, healing, and a more equitable community.
Our Lens is a 12-week filmmaking program designed to engage youth in creative arts, including audiovisual production, acting, and editing. We’re seeking youth 16-21 living in the City of Lynn who have a passion for creative arts and would like to develop their skills in storytelling through media.
The program is completely free and offers hands-on training in video and audio production. Participants will be involved in various roles, from production and screenwriting to acting and editing. Youth interested in audiovisual production, photography, creative writing, or screenwriting are ideal candidates for the program.
The goal is to equip youth with the skills to create short narrative films that reflect their lived experiences and address important social issues. The program will culminate in a citywide film festival across the City of Lynn, where the films will be screened to spark community dialogue.
Ideal participant profile:
- Youth aged 16-21 years old
- Residents of the City of Lynn
- Available for 12 weeks (4 hours per week after school, 2 days per week)
- Passionate about creative arts such as audiovisual production, photography, screenwriting, or acting
