the city of lynn’s parking ban WIll be lifted at 7PM ON Tuesday, March 14th. More information is below


The City of Lynn is under the following advisories:

  • High Wind Warning: Tuesday at 8AM until Wednesday at 4AM
    • Damaging winds up to 65mph will blow down trees and power lines. Risk for power outages. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
  • Winter Storm Warning: Until Wednesday at 8AM
    • Travel will become hazardous this evening. Strong wind gusts coupled with wet snow may result in power outages. The snow will begin to lessen in intensity this evening and will end overnight.
  • Winter Weather Advisory: Tuesday at 8AM until Wednesday at 8AM
    • Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
  • Coastal Flood Advisory: Wednesday from 3 – 8AM
    • Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.Only minor inundation and erosion is expected around the time of high tide early Wednesday morning.

The snow parking ban will be lifted on Tues, March 14th at 7pm. Cars should be retrieved from parking lots by 9pm tonight. Any cars left overnight will be subject to ticketing/towing.

Lynn Public Schools will be open tomorrow, Wed, March 15th.

NO TRASH/RECYCLING DELAY THIS WEEK

In advance of a winter storm impacting the state tonight and through Wednesday, the MBTA and Keolis Boston are preparing the system prior to the arrival of snow and forecasted high winds. In addition, the MBTA is advising customers to subscribe to T-Alerts for the most current service information as the storm may cause downed trees and other impacts that could affect normal schedules. Riders are also encouraged to follow @MBTA and @MBTA_CR on Twitter and visit the T’s Winter Travel Guide at mbta.com/winter.

Due to the snow emergency tomorrow, our Food Pantry, Smart Center and offices are closed.

From North shore community college:

NSCC will close on Tuesday, March 14 at NOON due to the predicted storm. All classes and activities with a start time scheduled after NOON on Tuesday are cancelled, and all offices and services will be closed.
