MassDOT Advisory | Lynn Daytime Construction Operations on Route 129 (Lynnfield Street) between Cowdrey Avenue and Colonial Avenue

Work will begin on Tuesday, April 18, and is scheduled to be conducted weekly, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing it will be conducting roadway construction operations on Route 129 (Lynnfield Street) between Cowdrey Avenue and Colonial Avenue in Lynn. The work will begin on Tuesday, April 18, and is scheduled to be conducted weekly, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The work is anticipated to continue through Fall 2023. This roadway improvement project includes roadway reconstruction, roadway resurfacing, reconstruction of sidewalks and pedestrian ramps, widening and reconstruction of channelization islands, installation of drainage systems, installation of an overhead flashing traffic beacon and other incidental work.

Signage, traffic control devices and police details will be used to guide drivers through the work zone. Drivers who are traveling through the impacted areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. The work is being conducted as part of a $5.5 million project to reconstruct a section of Route 129 in Lynn.
