Neighbor to Neighbor Action Fund is proud to announce our endorsement of Sean Reid in his run for 11th Essex District State Representative for West Lynn and Nahant this year.
“For me, Sean Reid is the obvious choice because he has both the experience and a true understanding of the people of Lynn,” said Dania De La Cruz, a member of Neighbor to Neighbor Action Fund and high school student in Lynn. “As for Neighbor to Neighbor, he was completely on board for housing legislation like rent control and other initiatives that would make our city a lot better.”
“We’re proud to endorse Sean Reid for State Representative because we believe he is the best candidate for the job,” said Lezlie Braxton Campbell, Deputy Director of Neighbor to Neighbor Action Fund. “We need more elected officials who will put their values into action, and Sean already has a proven track record of building support for the issues that matter most to Lynn, from supporting rent control to fighting for good, union jobs.”
Reid currently serves as the Legislative Director for State Senator Brendan Crighton. A Lynn resident and graduate of Lynn Public Schools, he is a member of the Lynn School Committee and co-founded Kayak and Sail Lynn, a nonprofit to connect Lynners, especially youth, with nature.
Reid has pledged support for rent control to combat the growing housing crisis in Lynn. In office, he will fight to upgrade public schools and combat youth violence by funding more opportunities for our children, advocate for better public transportation, and work to create more good, union jobs in Lynn.

“We need a State Representative who is going to help stop displacement in Lynn, and right now that means rent control,” said Miles Gresham, Campaigns Director for Neighbor to Neighbor Action Fund. “Sean Reid has already pledged to support rent control in office because he knows how much that will mean for Lynn’s health and stability. His policy platform, his experience as a school committee member and a legislative director, and his background as someone who was directly impacted by poverty and housing insecurity growing up, are the key reasons we endorsed. Sean is a prime example of who we mean when we say that ‘people who have experienced the challenges our communities face are best positioned to solve them’”.
The Primary Election is Tuesday, September 3rd with the General Election to follow on Tuesday, November 5th.
