Notice of extended closure of navigational channel at Belden G. Bly Bridge on Route 107: Feb 1 – May 1, 2024
Closure in place Thursday, February 1 through Wednesday, May 1
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing it will be implementing a temporary channel closure along the Saugus River where vessels will not have access to travel under the Route 107 bridge to the Lynn or Saugus harbors. The channel closure will be in place from Thursday, February 1 through Wednesday, May 1 and is necessary to allow crews to safely and effectively install the new bascule bridge across the navigational channel.
The channel closure will have no impact on pedestrian or vehicular travel along Route 107.
This work is part of a $99.3 million drawbridge replacement project. The project is currently expected to be completed in March 2026.
The schedule for this work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
