September 15-16, 2023 – Tropical Storm Information & updates

New England is going to be impacted by Hurricane Lee tonight into tomorrow, with rain and wind leaving the biggest impacts. Below is information from the City of Lynn & National Weather Service about the storm’s impacts, cancellations, and more.

Hurricane Lee will make a close pass of southern New England tonight and tomorrow. Impacts will be greatest across the Cape and Islands, where wind gusts of 50-60mph are possible Sat AM. Rain will be mainly east of the I-495 corridor.

The Tropical Storm Warning covers the entire #Massachusetts coastline with strong wind, rain & coastal flooding expected.

The State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) and MEMA East Regional EOCs will activate at 7AM on Saturday. MEMA is prepared for 24/7 operations through the weekend if needed. The SEOC will be staffed by multiple agencies to coordinate the state’s response and support local-level response.
