Celebrating the permanent protection of Lynn Woods | April 4, 2024
On April 4, 2024 the City go Lynn, MA Department of Conservation & Recreation, and Greenbelt gathered at Lynn City Hall to celebrate the permanent protection of 2,100 acres in Lynn Woods. The City of Lynn and Lynn Water & Sewer Commission was granted a conservation restriction to DCR and Greenbelt, after decades-long collaboration.
This will ensure that Lynn Woods will never again face the threat of development and that clean drinking water and miles of trails through Lynn Woods will be available to all, forever. Remarks were given by the following people:
Stephanie Cooper – Undersecretary, MA Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs
Brian Arrigo – Commissioner, MA Dept. of Conservation & Recreation
Jared Nicholson – Mayor, City of Lynn
Kate Bowditch – President, Essex County Greenbelt
Steven Babbitt – Chairman, Lynn Park Commission
