A Civil War Memorial Service was held on October 4, 2023 in the Civil War section of Pine Grove Cemetery. The Sons of Union Veterans honored those who served during the Civil War with speeches, a color guard, Living Historian Michael Crutcher as Frederick Douglass, and more before touring the graves of abolitionists.
