LCTV News Interview: “Laces of Lynn” – A public art sculpture | October 22, 2021
On this edition of the Lynn Lowdown we were joined by local artist Kevin Orlosky to talk about the new public art sculpture coming to Central Square next year entitled “Laces of Lynn”. Kevin talked about the idea for the sculpture, how he is engaging with the community for input, & more. Kevin is running community workshops on Oct. 23, Oct. 30, & Nov. 9 for input from the community. “Laces of Lynn” seamlessly ties the history of Lynn as a shoe mecca, to the values of a diverse and growing city today. Each lace will be fabricated out of 0.5-inch sheets of steel plasma cut into the shape of words suggested by the community. It was selected by the public with 30% of the vote when several art installations were first considered. For more info on this project, & the workshops, please visit lynnincommon.com/lynnstallation
