From the Lynn Water & Sewer Commission: The LWSC will be conducting the 2026 Hydrant Flushing Program starting on May 4th and ending on June 11th (no flushing on Memorial Day). The hydrant flushing schedule/locations for weeks 1 and 2 of the program can be found below.
The LWSC will post this schedule on our website and provide signage throughout the neighborhoods on the evenings we are flushing to provide another form of notification to the residents that may be affected. The schedule/locations for the remaining weeks will be announced soon.
Rusty and dirty water may be experienced for a short time during and after flushing. If the water appears dirty, leaving the tap open for several minutes following flushing should clear the pipes. Prior to doing laundry, residents are advised to check this schedule.
This program is necessary to clean the distribution system of residual materials that normally settle out in the mains during the year to ensure the delivery of better-quality water during the coming
summer months.
