Lynn, MA – Lynn Community Television (LCTV) is proud to announce that they have won an award from the Alliance for Community Media’s Hometown Media Awards. This is the first national award for Lynn Community Television, Lynn’s community media center.
The Alliance for Community Media is a national organization representing over 3,000 public access & community media centers. There were over 1,000+ entries submitted to this year’s awards in 30+ categories and judged by volunteers from other community media centers throughout the country.
LCTV won in the “Community Events – Parades/Festivals” category for their coverage of the 2017 Beyond Walls Mural Festival. The video was a part of their “Community Connector” program, a show that highlights community events in short video packages.
Head of Production Management David Riley Jr. filmed and edited this video, with assistance from Lynn Tech Co-op students Ryan Bedard & Meghan Ayer. The video, available on YouTube, showcased artists painting their murals throughout the downtown along with interviews.
The winners will be presented with their plaques at the 2018 ACM Annual Conference’s Hometown Media Awards Celebration, being held this year in Baltimore on July 12. LCTV staff will be attending the ceremony.
