The City of Lynn Office of Emergency Management is monitoring a mixed precipitation event beginning today, Friday, February 20, and continuing through Saturday afternoon.

Here is what you need to know based on the latest National Weather Service data for Lynn as of 8AM on Friday:

🕒 TIMING
  • Earliest Snow Onset: Light snow and rain mixture is expected to begin in Lynn around 3:00 PM today (Friday).
  • Ending Time: Measurable snowfall is expected to taper off by approximately 12:00 AM to 2:00 AM Saturday.
  • Impact: The Friday evening commute will be impacted. Please plan for slippery roads and reduced visibility.
❄️ ACCUMULATION & HAZARDS
  • Totals: Lynn is currently in the 2-3 inch accumulation zone.
  • Conditions: Expect a period of snow, rain, and potentially freezing rain. Surfaces may become icy and hazardous quickly.

Information from the City of Lynn

A parking ban will go into effect on Friday, February 20″ at 8:00PM. Cars parked on the street will be subject to ticketing and towing.

Snow parking lots will be open to residents starting at 6:00PM. Please note that the Lynn Public Schools Downtown Campus (195 Market Street) is available to residents.

Weather advisories will be shared via the City’s official communication channels. Further information, including when the parking ban is lifted, will be posted subsequently.

Towed cars will be located at 389 Blossom Street (Lynn Ferry Terminal Site).
