From the Galleries at LynnArts: GALA invites artists to submit work for an upcoming exhibition focused on the color Blue.
From clear skies and coastal waters to soft shadows, shifting light, and moments of pause, blue shows up everywhere during these warmer months. It can feel fresh and expansive, reflective and calm, playful and dreamy, or deeply emotional. For this exhibition, artists are invited to consider how blue appears through landscape, memory, movement, atmosphere, or feeling. Blue may take center stage or quietly weave its way through a piece—as a dominant color, a subtle accent, or an underlying mood.
Interpretations may be literal or abstract, intuitive or intentional. All approaches and artistic voices are welcome. All mediums are encouraged, including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, fiber, mixed media, and installation.Â
Intake Dates & Hours are May 27th-29th from 3 – 7 PM and May 30th from 12 – 4 PM. The exhibition opens on June 3, with an Opening Reception on Saturday, June 6 from 5pm-8pm in the Main Gallery. It will remain on display at GALA until July 18th.
