The City of Lynn is so excited to share information about their new City initiative funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). This initiative for interpretation services for the next three years is aimed at assisting city officials reach a broad range of residents throughout the ARPA outreach process and provide language access to our diverse community.
The City of Lynn has hired three interpreters in the following languages: Arabic, Haitian-Creole, and Spanish. They will have a few others that will be per diem and a Khmer interpreter as well. There will be a possibility of hiring others as needs arise.
The interpreters will be in Lynn City Hall at the top of the stairs of the Foyer near the “Welcome” desk.
Below is a list of things they can support in:
- In-person/ live interpretation services for residents
- Live interpretation via their work phones
- Answering questions via email
- Connecting residents to city services, and resources
At this time, the interpreters don’t have capacity to translate documents for the community. Attached is more information including their hours, and their contact information. Feel free to share the flyers with others.
