4 winters ago Maria Vega-Viera started a collection drive for those in need, which has grown in scope over the years. This year they hope to create 450 basic hygiene kits to distribute around the community containing toiletries, clothing, and more. A message from Maria and the other organizers is below:
We request your support to help vulnerable homeless residents during our winter months. Our 4th annual winter collection drive for season 2023-2024 collective goal is to help 450 recipients obtain personal care items that are costly and needed to help drive basic well-being. Essential personal care items such as winter outerwear, personal hygiene products, and winter wear are healthy choices and the much-needed comfort and protection they deserve.
We are asking for your support from December through the end of February. 100% of the donated items and funds will go directly to our community.
