The Shoe City Series ends in November with the Turkey Troy 5k in Wyoma Square. This was the old Lynne’s Kids race of the past and Stop the Violence: LYNN was gifted this race. The organizers of this race decided to use the donations for 10 scholarships for track athletes at the five Lynn High schools, 2 for each.
There will also be awards for top finishers in 5 age groups and have a robust time after the race at Rolly’s Tavern where the Medals will be given at the end of the race. The race begins at 9 am, which gives families time to get home and enjoy Thanksgiving with their families.
STV are still in need of sponsors for 2024, please reach out to John Hogan by calling 617-240-0388 or email

The Shoe City Series is a collection of four 5K races throughout the year. Each race is a different course in a different part of the city and a different time of the year. This is designed to give the participants a view of our entire city and to highlight some of its many beautiful features and areas.
The medals awarded for each of the races are meant to interlock, creating a single big medal for those that participate in all 4. The races are as follows:
- Hibernian 5K – March 24th
- Lynn Fire & Police Family Day 5K – May 25th
- Clock to The Rock – September 21st
- Turkey Trot – November 28th
