On today’s City of Lynn COVID-19 3PM update Councilor At-Large Brian LaPierre announced that Lynn City Hall is reopening this week, but only to workers. The general public is not expected to be allowed back in for “at least a month”.

Department heads are now on site
and workers will report next week with several precautions in place. City Hall workers will need to practice proper social distancing, operate at 50% capacity, undergo temperatures checks and work a staggered schedule.

The public is currently encouraged to use the City of Lynn website to conduct business and/or find the appropriate number to call for the department you wish to contact. You can find a list of Essential Services provided remotely by clicking here.

From Mayor McGee’s office: The Lynn Public Health Department has confirmed that as of today, the number of active, confirmed positive COVID-19 cases is 1,613 with 19 new cases today. 1,760 Lynn residents have recovered and 91 have died. The total number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Lynn since March 21, 2020, including those who have died and recovered, is 3,464. Please visit the new City of Lynn COVID-19 Data Dashboard which is updated daily at http://arcg.is/aiiWu

Today, the Mayor and the Public Health Director signed an executive order rescinding the curfew order requiring residents and visitors to remain home from 9:00PM-6:00AM.

As of June 1st, the state Department of Public Health began reporting both confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases and deaths in accordance with new CDC guidance. This change will increase the number of cases and deaths reported in Massachusetts and may result in a discrepancy between the Lynn daily update numbers and the state’s daily reports. The newly reported totals are a result of retrospective review of probable cases and deaths dating back to March 1, 2020 which will be reflected in the total number of cases in Lynn.

We will continue to provide regular updates on COVID-19 through the City website (www.lynnma.gov), social media, and the Smart 911 emergency notification system (sign up at www.smart911.com).
