On Saturday, August 5th, LifeScene hosted its 16th annual Family Fun Day on the Lynn Commons.
This year, LifeScene’s Family Fun Day drew five hundred members of the Greater Lynn community for an afternoon of entertainment and community connections. Attendees enjoyed free food, free raffles, a DJ, and a bounce house.
Executive Director of LifeScene, Selvin Chambers says, “Family Fun Day is a day for connecting with the community and sharing the available resources that are available to them ”
During a short speaking program hosted by participants in LifeScene’s Project Success, Sean Reid, District Director for Senator Brendan Crighton, was presented with the Community Leadership Award.
“Thank you to LifeScene for this incredible honor, which will serve as a source of inspiration moving forward in my work. I am so grateful to live in a community full of remarkable individuals who work tirelessly and collaboratively to bring about positive change on a daily basis.”

During this annual event, attending children were supervised by LifeScene’s staff, program participants, volunteers and board members. While the children enjoyed fun activities like sack races and Connect Four, their families were introduced to 28+ local organizations, non-profits, businesses, and agencies with goods and services for the community.
This year continued the sixteen-year tradition celebrating the Greater Lynn community and LifeScene’s diverse and unique roll as both a provider of services and a connector to the area’s resources.
