RAW’s Real To Reel Filmschool receives grant from AFAMPAS

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the recipients of its 2020 FilmCraft and FilmWatch grants. A total of $2.5 million has been allocated to 96 organization, including recipients of the emergency grant funds announced last month in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Academy’s Grants committee is honored to continue to provide much-needed support to these 96 worthy organizations — their impact on the world of film is truly immeasurable,” grants committee chair Marcus Hu added.

This year’s grants range from $5,000 to $200,000.

The Lynn Public Schools shared a survey for feedback on the Start Date for the 2020-2021 school year. Responses will be collected until this Monday, May 18th.

From Mayor McGee’s office: The Lynn Public Health Department has confirmed that as of today, the number of active, confirmed positive COVID-19 cases is 2,149 with 18 new cases today. 715 Lynn residents have recovered and 80 have died. The total number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Lynn since March 21, 2020, including those who have died and recovered, is 2,944.

Lynn Community Health Center has updated their COVID-19 Testing criteria to include those who are asymptomatic and have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in addition to those who are showing the following COVID-19 symptoms: fever or chills, cough or shortness of breath, muscle aches, headache, sore throat or new loss of smell or taste. Please call 781-581-3900 as testing will still be by appointment only. All are welcome to call, regardless of health insurance or immigration status.
