September 2nd Ballots Set, Mail-In Voting Applications Now Available
Lynn voters now know the order candidates will appear on their ballot and have mail-in voting information for the Preliminary Election on Tuesday, September 2. This year Lynners will have the opportunity to decide who will serve as their Mayor, Ward Councilor, Councilor At-Large, and School Committee.
This past Friday candidate positions on the September 2 Preliminary Election ballot were determined at City Hall. A box from the early 1900s has numbers put inside, and it is spun around to mix them up. Candidates’ names are called and then a staff person selects a number from the box, which determines their order on the ballot for their race.
Please note that the Mayor and Councilors in Wards 2, 3, 4, and 6 are running unopposed. Everyone will make the final ballot in November except Ward 5, where 2 candidates will be eliminated in September.
