Temporary Detours on Route 107 From October 1st-9th
From the Massachusetts Department of Transportation: MassDOT is announcing temporary turn restrictions at the intersection of Route 107 and Ballard Street in Saugus. The restrictions will be in place from 5:00 a.m. Thursday, October 1, through 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 2. The turn restrictions are necessary to safely and effectively allow crews to complete roadway repairs associated with utility work performed by the MWRA.
Drivers traveling in either direction on Route 107 will be unable to turn onto Ballard Street, and drivers on Ballard Street will be unable to turn onto Route 107. Ballard Street will remain open for local access only. Drivers traveling through the area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
This work is part of a $99.3 million drawbridge replacement project on Route 107 (Salem Turnpike/Western Avenue) over the Saugus River.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
