Lynn Public Schools announces online program for K-5 students
Dear Families of Current K-5 Students,
I am thrilled to announce that Lynn Public Schools has been awarded a grant to offer K-5 students access to the on-line program, ST Math this summer and next school year. This grant is has been made possible through partnership with The Mind Institute, DESE, Mass STEM Hub and generous funding by The One8 Foundation.
What is ST Math?
ST Math is a PreK-8 visual instructional program that leverages the brain’s innate spatial-temporal reasoning ability to solve mathematical problems. St Math’s unique, patented approach provides students with equitable access to learning through challenging puzzles, non-routine problem solving, and informative feedback.
Why should your child engage with ST Math?
Student progress in math is at greatest potential for risk by what many have termed a “COVID slide,” according to a report published in April 2020 by NWEA. Students can minimize the effect of “COVID slide”, by using ST Math for the recommended number of minutes each week throughout the summer.
K-1 Students- 60 minutes per week
2-5 Students- 90 minutes per week
When will ST Math be available?
Our staff is working hard to enroll all K-5 students and we hope to have the program ready to be accessed the week of June 15th. Your child’s teachers and principals will be reaching out to families to ensure students get their log-in information.
How can you learn more?
• Contact your child’s teacher through Class Dojo or by email.
• Feel free to access the Parent Resource page on ST Math’s website.
• Read the ST Math Parent Guide by clicking here.
