15 Grantees receive support for placemaking and placekeeping activities throughout the City.
The City of Lynn and the Lynn Creative Cities initiative are pleased to announce the recipients of the Lynnspire 2024 Creative Placemaking Grant Program. Fifteen individuals and organizations were recently chosen to receive a portion of a $60,000 grant ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.
The Lynnspire grant program was open to all, and favored Lynn-based creatives. Its goal is to support community-driven, creative projects that promote engagement within the community, and create a sense of place. The winners will produce and manage their activities by the end of this year.
โOnce again, the City of Lynn has shown up with beautifully planned initiatives to promote not only creative endeavors, but with creative programming and opportunities to come together as a community. It is always inspiring to see how the people of Lynn come through for each other.โ

โCongratulations to all the awardees of the Lynnspire Grant,โ said Mayor Jared C. Nicholson. โThis opportunity supports our local, creative talent and is a great way to promote inclusivity while also embracing our Cityโs artistic identity. Lynn has an outstanding tradition of community engagement and collaboration through arts and culture, and we are excited to see the art projects come to fruition.โ
All Lynnspire applicants followed specific eligibility criteria, then were judged via a standard rubric used for every applicant. Each proposal was scored with awardees being the top scores. There are seven $1000 grants, one $3,000 grant, four $5000 grants, & three $10,000 grants. Winning activities include a site specific sculpture installation that asks Lynners to โdreamโ, a student-led mask making program, support for a city wide family day festival, and three months of arts & culture activities for Lynn seniors.
“We are incredibly proud of the diverse range of grant applications we received, reflecting the rich tapestry of our community’s creativity and innovation.โ says Luis Cotto, creative strategist for the City of Lynn Creative Cities initiative, โThe distribution of these events and programs across various city spaces ensures that every corner of our city will benefit from this vibrant cultural exchange.”
