On November 19, 2022 the East Lynn Pop Warner team beat Everett to become the undefeated State Champions. But the next day the team’s dreams of a national championship were dashed, thanks allegations to missing paperwork.

The Regional Board for Pop Warner identified two players as missing up-to-date physicals, but the Pop Warner National Circuit claims over half the team is missing proper documentation. The league confirmed that it certified the East Lynn 14 and under roster in October, but only became aware of the issues regarding paperwork after the team’s championship win. On November 23, 2022 the East Lynn Pop Warner organization released the following statement in regards to the allegations.

The National Pop Warner Circuit claims that East Lynn Pop Warner (ELPW) book had more than half of the documents missing is absolutely false.

ELPW reviewed the 14U book with the E-Mass President & he confirmed only 2 updated physicals had not been inserted into the book in place of the 2021 physicals. ELPW produced the 2 documents the next day.

Every Single ELPW youth athlete was officially stamped & approved for play in the 2022 pop Warner season.

Due to the allegations the East Lynn Pop Warner team was disqualified from competing further, with runner-up team Everett taking their place. This move upset the players, their families, coaches, & the entire Lynn community. Despite this, the team still have an opportunity to play at the national level!

New England Youth Tackle, a youth football league with a team in Lynn, has extended an offer to compete in the D1Nation National Youth Football Championship happening in Atlanta from December 16-19, 2022. To qualify a team must meet the following criteria:

  • Finished top 2 in a national qualifier
  • Ranked Nationally on D1
  • D1 travel league winner
  • Defending champions (automatic bid)

It would be an absolute honor if you could participate and bless us with your presence. It would also be a great source of inspiration for the younger Lynn players to witness an undefeated living legend on a national stage. We genuinely hope you would consider this invitation. These players earned every bit of it.
